Game Developers!
Do you have a game you'd like to present at our next event?

When submitting a game make sure that it is playable with no game breaking bugs. The main question to ask yourself is: "Would I show this game at a convention?" If it's yes, then submit it below.

FAQ

What games will be at the event?:

Each month we will host local game developers who will bring the games they have finished or they are actively creating. There will be a consistent setup of multiplayer games. Our largest screen will have a 4-player indie game from Steam. One medium screen will have a 2-player indie game from Steam. One medium screen will have Nintendo Switch 2-4 player indie game. One of the bar’s mounted TVs will have a 2 player retro game (NES/SNES/etc). We will be avoiding AAA games in the spirit of indie game development and to allow our attendees to experience games they might not find elsewhere. All games should be suitable for all ages, but parental discretion is advised. Many video games contain some mild form of violence (shooting, punching, throwing).

When is developer set up and break down?:

Set up begins 30 minutes before the event start time. Developers are encouraged to complete setting up before the event starts. The event ends at 9:00 and if your game is not being actively played we suggest packing it up and then spending the rest of the evening mingling with developers. There is a hard stop for all equipment at 9:30. All developers must turn off their devices and start packing up by 9:30. This ensures we have everything removed from the venue before it closes at 10pm.

Where do developers set up?:

All developers set up at the long developer game table. Multiplayer indie games can speak to an event organizer to use one of the larger screens that are reserved for indie multiplayer.

What equipment do developers need to bring?:

Equipment such as computers and controllers are provided by the developer. Large laptop screens or medium (22”-40”) lightweight monitors or HDTVs are recommended so players can easily see your game. Please test your equipment before coming to the event. Developers bring their equipment at their own risk. If any equipment is damaged during the event, it is not the responsibility of North Austin Game Night nor the responsibility of the event venue nor event attendees. Please be careful not to create a tripping hazard with your wires or equipment.

What equipment is provided for developers?:

We provide surge protectors, tables, and chairs for developers to use. These will be setup before you arrive. If you forget some cords, contact the organizers as we have extra cords and would be happy to loan them to you.

What about VR/XR games?:

We are able to isolate a small section of the venue for players to play XR games. Because of space limitations any XR games must be seated or stand-in-place experiences. We suggest bringing a monitor that can stream the XR device content through something like Chromecast or wired connection so everyone can see what players are doing in the game.

How can I help, beyond bringing a game to present?:

We encourage you to invite friends and members of your community to attend the event. Most people learn about our event through word-of-mouth and shares on social media. Developers inviting their circles of friends brings a lot of value and diversity to our community.

Who are the event organizers?:

This event is organized by Dan Reese, Michael Taylor, and Ted Anderson.
